Selous Creek Watermain 2020

The Selous Creek Water Main Project consisted of installing and commissioning 2.4km of 400mm water main and 450m of 200mm sanitary Sewer. The water main transports raw water up to the City of Nelson’s Mountain Station Reservoir. It was one portion of the upgrading to Nelson’s water supply that ensures city residents have an ample and safe supply of potable water.

One of the main challenges of this project was terrain. The new utilities had to be installed up grades of 50%! This required anchor blocks to be formed and poured to ensure stability of the new pipes. It also required incredible forethought and diligence from the Kays staff to ensure this work was completed safely and timely.
