1100 Block Green Avenue Rebuild – Trail, BC

After a water main break causing massive damage to Green Avenue, a tender was released by the City of Trail for the repairs. Under the design and administration from True Consulting Ltd.  Kays Contracting was successfully awarded the contract.

The work was an opportunity to completely upgrade the existing underground utilities and surface works. The site was challenging due to the road grade (25%), the proximity to an aging rock retaining wall supporting the roadway and the unknown locations of existing underground utilities.

The work included:

• Repair and re-route the existing water main. Re-connect existing services to the new water system.
• Install new storm sewer and catch Basins.
• Install new sanitary sewer and re-connect existing services.
• Overlay the existing sidewalk and install a new handrail.
• Excavate, install gravel and pave asphalt.
