Spearhead Expansion

In 2025 Spearhead started the expansion of their new 55,000sqft production facility. Kays was awarded the management of the bulk earthworks portion of the development. Partnering with Alpine Logging and McCaw’s Drilling and Blasting the bulk excavation was completed in the fall of 2025.

Kays was hired to manage and complete the following tasks:

• Implementing a site specific safety program.
• Site clearing and stripping.
• Bulk excavation, blasting and monitoring.
• Managment of the offsite hauling of excess materials. Including volumes of 26,000m3 of soil and  20,000m3 of rock!
• Final sloping, retaining walls and hydro-seeding.
• Installation and commisioning of a new state of the art septic system.

Kays continues to work on the project alongside HR Pacific and Red Dog Carpentry and is responsible for completing the following work:

• Detail excavation and footing preparation on new building.
• Interior/exterior backfill and interior/exterior slab preparation on new building.
• Install rain water leaders, perimeter drains and storm infiltration system to handle the additional volume of storm water off the new building site.
• Preparation, gravel installation and finish grading for asphalt parking lot and yard spaces.
